Beautifully Mundane
“We live in a world with invisible lines of connection between us and the Universe everywhere. In some places, those lines of connection speak louder, but we must cultivate this divine connection and awareness in all places—in the daily mundane.”
Beautifully Mundane
Praises of Stillness
In a time when we are sold the idea that life should be a series of blissed-out instagram-worthy moments, Beautifully Mundane is the opposite.
In brief poetic bursts, Alison E. Berman captures moments of subtle beauty while living in South America over the course of a year. Each poems helps the reader dial into a snapshot of present life, open space for its simple beauty to shine through, and experience poetry as a pathway to the present moment.
“The divine is not on the coast of Big Sur. The divine is not on the retreat. The divine is not in the one-off. The divine is in the here and now, the day-to-day, the simplicity. If we want the divine, the confidence, the authenticity, then we must be the generators of that energy, now.”
